ABSTRACT In order to understand the conduct of new paradigms aimed at ecological restoration, the objective of this work was to review the literature on the application of ecological restoration in protected areas of the Atlantic Forest biome, in order to contribute to the fulfillment of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). With the use of indexers, focused keywords, and criteria focused on the theme, 58 scientific articles were selected, analyzed through a systematic review and compared with each other in the use of their strategies. The results showed a preference for active restoration with variations in species diversity, and passive restoration. Fertilization, control of competing plants, fighting ants and soil preparation are the most mentioned silvicultural practices. In the analysis of the proposed monitoring, diversity, information intrinsic to the species and the landscape, phytosociology and crown metrics, expressed the most recommended indicators for evaluating the restorative process, and suggest 74 species for use in the projects. In addition, it is necessary to encourage scientific productions on the subject to also include the Midwest and Northeast regions, fauna surveys, as well as a detailed description of the implementation of the ecological restoration project.

RESUMO Para entender a condução de novos paradigmas voltados à restauração ecológica, o objetivo deste trabalho foi revisar a literatura sobre a aplicação da restauração ecológica em áreas protegidas do bioma Mata Atlântica, a fim de contribuir ao cumprimento dos Objetivos de Desenvolvimento Sustentável (ODS). Com uso de indexadores, palavras-chave voltadas, e a critérios voltados ao tema, foram selecionados 58 artigos científicos analisados por meio de uma revisão sistemática e comparados entre si no uso de suas estratégias. Os resultados mostraram preferência pela restauração ativa com variações na diversidade de espécies, e a restauração passiva. Adubação, controle de plantas competidoras, combate a formigas e o preparo do solo são as práticas silviculturais mais mencionadas. Na análise dos monitoramentos propostos, a diversidade, as informações intrínsecas às espécies e a paisagem, a fitossociologia e as métricas da copa, se expressaram os indicadores mais recomendados para avaliação do processo restaurativo, e sugerem 74 espécies para uso nos projetos. Ademais, é necessário incentivar que as produções científicas sobre a temática contemplem também as regiões centro-oeste e nordeste, os levantamentos da fauna, bem como a descrição detalhada sobre a implantação do projeto de restauração ecológica.

Resumo: O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o efeito do armazenamento na qualidade fisiológica de sementes de cedro (Cedrela fissilis), bem como correlacionar a germinação e o vigor das sementes com suas principais alterações bioquímicas. Os experimentos foram conduzidos em delineamento inteiramente casualizado, em arranjo fatorial 3×5 (três ambientes × cinco períodos de armazenamento). As sementes foram armazenadas por 0, 135, 280, 381 e 515 dias, em: câmara úmida a 5±2ºC e 80% de umidade relativa, câmara seca a 20±2ºC e 60% de umidade relativa e ambiente não controlado (laboratório) a 16±10ºC e 60±25% de umidade relativa. Em todos os períodos de armazenamento, foram avaliados o teor de umidade em base úmida e as percentagens de proteínas, lipídios, carboidratos totais e cinzas. Para os testes de viabilidade e vigor, foram calculados percentagem de germinação e tempo médio de germinação. No momento da coleta, as sementes apresentaram 11,5% de água, 85,5% de germinação e tempo médio de germinação de 13,5 dias, e todas foram negativamente influenciadas pelo período de armazenamento. A percentagem de proteína mostrou tendência de queda, enquanto a de carboidratos aumentou com o aumento do período de armazenamento. A germinação e o vigor das sementes reduzem drasticamente com o armazenamento.

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of storage on the physiological quality of cedar (Cedrela fissilis) seeds, as well as to correlate the germination and vigor of the seeds with their main biochemical changes. The experiments were carried out in a completely randomized design, in a 3×5 factorial arrangement (three environments × five storage periods). Seeds were stored for 0, 135, 280, 381, and 515 days in: a humidity chamber at 5±2ºC and 80% relative humidity, a drying chamber at 20±2ºC and 60% relative humidity, and an uncontrolled environment (laboratory) at 16±10ºC and 60±25% relative humidity. In all storage periods, the content of moisture on a wet basis and the percentages of proteins, lipids, total carbohydrates, and ash were evaluated. For the viability and vigor tests, the percentage of germination and mean germination time were calculated. At sampling time, seeds showed 11.5% water content, 85.5% germination, and mean germination time of 13.5 days, and all were negatively influenced by storage period. Protein percentage showed a downward trend, while that of carbohydrates increased as the storage period was extended. Seed germination and vigor reduce drastically with storage.

ABSTRACT The plant vigor defined in the laboratory may not indicate the final quality of seedlings produced under nursery conditions, or even their survival in plantations. So, we evaluated the influence of the storage conditions of Torresea acreana seeds on its emergence, as well as, on the morphological quality of produced seedlings. Seeds were collected in October/2011, packed, transported, conditioned in closed glas pots and stored in three environments for a period of 462 days. The treatments consisted of seedlings produced from seeds: 1 - without storage (control), 2 - stored in a dry chamber, 3 - stored in a humid chamber, and 4 - stored in an uncontrolled environment (laboratory). Sowing was performed in 50 cm³ plastic tubes filled with decomposed pine bark and coconut fiber (50/50 v/v) which were packed in a glasshouse. The study analyzed the percentage of emergence, mean seedlings emergence time, stem diameter, total height, ratio between total height and stem diameter, shoot length, mean root length, total dry biomass, root dry biomass, shoot dry biomass, and Dickson quality index. Seed storage proved to be a negative factor for the emergence and vigor of T. acreana seedlings. The vigor of the seeds is a preponderant factor to increase the morphological quality of the seedlings.

RESUMO A erva-mate (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) é uma espécie climácica, bastante adaptada ao sombreamento, por isso, cada vez mais cultivada em consórcio com outras espécies madeiráveis, e de forma mais intensiva de que a sua exploração tradicional. Para manter níveis de produtividade adequados é necessário o uso de fertilizantes que deem aporte nutricional às plantas. Os teores de substâncias do metabolismo secundário da planta, como as metilxantinas e os compostos fenólicos, podem ser afetados por esse tipo de manejo mais intensivo, já que o sombreamento e a adubação influenciam a fisiologia da planta. Objetivando a determinação de teores de metilxantinas e compostos fenólicos totais em folhas de erva-mate, produzidas sob luminosidade aparente de 30, 45 e 60%, e fertilização convencional (FC) (N, P2O5 e K2O 15-05-30) e de liberação lenta (N, P2O5 e K2O 15-08-12), foi proposto esse estudo para duas estações de crescimento nos anos de 2011 e 2012. A fertilização da erva-mate associada aos níveis de luminosidade aparente não promoveram o aumento de teores de metilxantinas totais e compostos fenólicos totais. A luminosidade aparente de 30% estabeleceu o melhor indicador para obtenção de metilxantinas, sendo que a fertilização FC apresentou a maior produção de metilxantinas, quando submetida à luminosidade aparente de 30 e 45%. Houve incremento do teor dos compostos fenólicos da estação de crescimento 2011 para 2012 promovido pelos tratamentos fertilizados com FLL e FC sob a luminosidade aparente de 30% e 60%.

ABSTRACT The Mate Tea (Ilex paraguariensis A. St.-Hil.) is a climax species adapted to low light, and that is why is more cultivated in consortium with other species of woods and more intensively that their traditional exploration. To maintain adequate levels of productivity, it is necessary the use of a fertilizer that gives nutritional intake to plants. The levels of substances of plant secondary metabolism as methylxanthines and phenolic compounds may be affected by this type of intensive management since the shading and fertilization influence the physiology of the plant. Aiming the determination of the levels of totals methylxanthines and phenolic compounds, produced under relative brightness of 30, 45 and 60%, and conventional fertilization (N, P2O5 and K2O 15-05-30) and slow release (N, P2O5 and K2O 15-08-12), this study was proposed for two growing seasons 2011 e 2012. The fertilization of mate tea associated with the apparent brightness levels did not promote increased levels of totals methylxanthines and phenolic compounds. The apparent brightness of 30% established the best indicator to obtain methylxanthines, and the conventional fertilization had the highest fertilization production of methylxanthine, when subjected to the apparent brightness of 30 and 45 %. There was an increase of the content of phenolic compounds of the growing season 2011 to 2012 promoted by the fertilization treatment with FLL and FC under the apparent brightness of 30% and 60%.

RESUMO O presente trabalho objetivou avaliar a viabilidade técnica e a influência da idade do porta-enxerto e do hábito de crescimento na enxertia de copa em Araucaria angustifolia. Foram utilizados porta-enxertos de duas idades (8 e 35 anos), com enxertos originários de dois hábitos de crescimento (ortotrópicos e plagiotrópicos). A enxertia foi realizada por borbulhia de placa, no terço médio e superior da copa das árvores de 8 anos e no terço médio e inferior das árvores de 35 anos, sempre próximo ao ápice em ramos primários. Os experimentos foram instalados em duas épocas, no outono e na primavera de 2015. Os tratamentos consistiram de: Porta enxertos com 8 anos de idade e enxertos ortotrópicos; Porta enxertos com 8 anos de idade e enxertos plagiotrópicos; Porta enxertos com 35 anos de idade e enxertos plagiotrópicos; Porta enxertos com 35 anos de idade e enxertos ortotrópicos. Foram avaliadas a sobrevivência dos enxertos ao longo do experimento e aos 16 meses, sua sobrevivência, a emissão, número e comprimento médio de brotações. A enxertia de copa é viável tecnicamente para araucária. O uso de porta-enxertos mais jovens (8 anos) é favorável a sobrevivência dos enxertos, especialmente quando da utilização de propágulos plagiotrópicos e enxertia realizada no outono (71,9%). O habito de crescimento dos enxertos se manteve idêntico ao original, independentemente do habito de crescimento dos porta-enxertos.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the technical viability and influence of the rootstock age and grafts growth habit on Araucaria angustifolia top grafting. Two rootstocks (8 and 35-year-old) were grafted with grafts originating from two growth habits (orthotropic and plagiotropic). We used the patch grafting technique in the middle and upper third of the crown of 8-year-old trees, and in the middle and lower third of 35-year-old trees, always near the apex in primary branches. The experiments were performed during the fall and spring/2015. The treatments consisted of: 8-year-old rootstocks and orthotropic grafts; 8-year-old rootstocks and plagiotropic grafts; 35-year-old rootstocks and plagiotropic grafts; 35-year-old rootstocks and orthotropic grafts. We evaluated graft survival throughout the experiment and at 16 months, we evaluated their survival, emission, and number and average length of sprouts. Top grafting is technically feasible for araucaria, with better results using younger rootstocks (8-year-old), especially with plagiotropic propagules and grafting in fall/2015 (71.9%). Growth habits of the grafts are maintained identically as original, independently of rootstock growth habit.

Com o objetivo de avaliar o desenvolvimento de duas espécies arbóreas nativas - Anadenanthera peregrina (angico-vermelho) e Schinus terebinthifolius (aroeira-vermelha) - submetidas a doses de fertilizante de liberação lenta na formulação 13-06-16, conduziu-se um experimento em viveiro utilizando uma mistura de matérias-primas com composto orgânico, vermiculita e Plantmax(r) para compor substrato base. O experimento foi conduzido no delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado com seis tratamentos em quatro repetições. Os tratamentos foram: T1-0 kg (testemunha); T2-2 kg; T3-4 kg; T4-6 kg; T5-8 kg e T6-10 kg de fertilizante de liberação lenta por metro cúbico de substrato base. Avaliou-se aos 189 dias após a semeadura a altura total, diâmetro do colo, biomassa fresca da parte aérea, biomassa seca da parte aérea, biomassa seca da raiz, biomassa seca total, relação entre altura e diâmetro do colo e o índice de qualidade de Dickson. Os resultados evidenciam que a aplicação de fertilizante de liberação lenta leva a ganhos significativos de crescimento em ambas as espécies, sendo as melhores doses 6,68 a 5,54 kg m-3 para a espécie Anadenanthera peregrina, e 8,38 a 14,42 kg m-3 para Schinus terebinthifolius.

In order to assess the development of two native species, Anadenanthera peregrina and Schinus terebinthifolius, submitted to doses of slow-release fertilizer formulation 13-06-16, an experiment was conducted in greenhouse using a mixture of raw materials with organic compost, vermiculite and plantmax to compose base substrate. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with six treatments and four replications. The treatments were : T1-0 kg (control), T2-2 kg, 4 kg-T3 , T4-6 kg, T5-8 kg and T6 - 10 kg slow release fertilizer per cubic meter of base substrate . Was evaluated at 189 days after sowing the total height, stem diameter, fresh weight of shoot, dry shoot biomass, root dry biomass, total biomass, the relationship between height and stem diameter and quality index Dickson. The results suggest that application of slow release fertilizer leads to significant gains in growth in both species, with the best doses from 6.68 to 5.54 kg m-3 for Anadenanthera peregrina species, and from 8.38 to 14,42 kg m-3 for Schinus terebinthifolius.

RESUMO Jacaranda puberula, conhecida como caroba, é uma espécie que apresenta potencial de uso para recomposição de áreas degradadas, por possuir rápido crescimento, agressividade e adaptar-se bem a solos arenosos e argilosos, ocorrendo em capoeiras e capoeirões. Com o intuito de se obter informações sobre espécies potenciais para uso em restauração de ambiente ripário foi estudado, no viveiro da prefeitura do município de Colombo, o desenvolvimento de mudas de Jacaranda puberula submetidas a 0, 30, 50 e 70% de sombreamento. Foram avaliadas as seguintes variáveis: altura (60, 90 e 120 dias) e diâmetro de coleto (90 e 120 dias) de 21 mudas e, área foliar e peso seco da raiz e parte aérea de seis mudas por tratamento, no final do experimento (120 dias após a repicagem). Mudas expostas a pleno sol apresentaram alto índice de mortalidade, portanto esse tratamento não foi discutido e comparado aos demais. O tratamento com 30% de sombreamento mostrou-se superior aos demais em todas as variáveis, sendo recomendado para a produção de mudas de Jacaranda puberula nas condições testadas. Já as menores médias das variáveis analisadas foram obtidas aos 120 dias para o sombreamento de 70%, indicando que esse tratamento não é recomendável para a produção de mudas dessa espécie em viveiro. A melhor condição para a introdução dessa espécie em uma área a ser recuperada é em clareiras (30 a 50% de sombreamento), uma vez que, na naturezas, também pode ser observado que a sua ocorrência em geral não é a pleno sol.

ABSTRACT Jacaranda puberula, known as caroba, is a species that presents potential use for the recovery of degraded areas, since it possesses fast growth and adapts well to sandy and loamy soils. It presents great aggressiveness in secondary forests and it can be used as urban tree because it produces beautiful lilac flowers. With the intention of obtaining information about potential species for use in recovery of riparian forest, were tested in the nursery of the city hall of the municipal district of Colombo, the development of seedlings of Jacaranda puberula submitted at 30, 50 and 70% of shading. There were used 40 seedlings by treatment and there were evaluated the following parameters: height (60, 90 and 120 days) and diameter (90 and 120 days) of all seedlings, leaf area and root and shoot dry weight of 6 seedlings per treatment. The largest averages of the analyzed variables were obtained for the 30% shading, except for root dry weight. The seedlings exposed to full sun presented high mortality rate and was not compared to the others. The smallest averages of the analyzed variables, except for height, were observed for the shading of 70%, indicating that this treatment is not advisable for the production of seedlings of this species in nursery. The best condition for planting the seedlings appears to be in open areas with shading of 30 to 50%, since its natural occurrence is not at full exposure.
